#18 Movie: 2001: A Space Odyssey
A psychological and surreal adventure through the future, 2001 will make your brain hurt in more ways than one. This movie is the exact opposite of your average popcorn flick. Nothing in this sci-fi classic is expected, everything seems weird and out-of-place. But it all comes together brilliantly. For example, literally ten minutes of the film is nothing but different landscapes in random colours. Yeah, seriously. Trust me though, it’s a fantastic movie. Of course, you’ve probably seen it anyway, it is one of the most famous science fiction movies ever.
#18 Game: Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense
Generally, when a great game comes out, several companies try to ride off that success with several ‘clones’ that are basically cheap rip-offs of the original. Usually, these games are terrible, and end up in the bargain bin for $3, never to be purchased……. However, sometimes a clone actually surpasses the original, and succeeds. Vigilante 8 was one of those games. Sure it was pretty darn similar to Twisted Metal, but it was better in just about every way. Then, Luxoflux (the creators of the game) came out with the sequel, and it just blew the mind of just about everyone who played it. The real reason to play this game is the amazing multiplayer, which me and my dad still play.
