#27 Movie: The Evil Dead
When The Evil Dead first came out, it was advertised as the scariest movie of all time! Did it live up to these lofty standards? Heck no. As a matter of fact, it was so bad, it was actually funny. People misinterpreted the horrific elements as just really dark comedy, and it succeeded as a comedy, not a horror film. Awesome, right? The special effects are downright stupid, and it will make you laugh because of that. Of course, some scenes are still a little….. unsettling. I’m mostly taking about the last demon, who doesn’t try to kill Ash, but simply follows him around, laughing demonically.
#27 Game: Comix Zone
If you’re one of the 12 people who actually played this challenging game, you know why it’s here. Brutal difficulty, an awesome main character, fun gameplay, smooth (and customizable) controls, and a unique story. You are Sketch Turner, and you’ve been having nightmares about a post-apocalyptic future, where mutants led by the evil Mortus barrage the earth with nuclear bombs and unrelenting attacks. Sketch decides to write a comic about these dreams, but one night, while writing it, lightning strikes his apartment building, and Sketch, along with his pet rat, Roadkill, is transported into his comic, while Mortus is transported out. As Sketch tries to put an end to Motus’ reign in the comic world, Mortus draws enemies and traps in the comic itself, attempting to stop him. It’s very creative, and definitely worth a download on the PlayStation Network or the Wii’s Virtual Console. As a matter of fact, get it off of both of them, it’s that good.
