#28 Film: The Matrix
The Matrix is an anomaly. It’s a brain-off, popcorn, action flick…… That actually has an interesting story and requires you to think. That alone makes it deserving of a spot on the list. Matrix succeeds on both levels, the action bits are exhilarating, and the story is intelligent and creative. The characters are fantastic, especially Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus, and Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity. This movie made shades and leather jackets cool, and for the first time since Star Wars, Sci-Fi was no longer for the dorky Star Trek fans (like me), but for everyone.
#28 Game: Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Mario Kart Double Dash made the list for not only bringing the high-speed item-fest to the Gamecube in spades, but also for featuring the best course design in arguably any game ever. Unlike the other games in the series, Double Dash has no tracks from other titles, only original courses. The tracks were so popular, that every console Mario Kart (and the new 3DS Mario Kart) feature at least one of the tracks from this game. Peach Beach, Daisy Cruiser, and Mushroom Bridge are my favorites. I’ve poured so many hours into this game, I could probably play it blindfolded.
